Unfortunately, this software does not lack many flaws. The support for VST3 (unlike many other DAWs) means that Cubase is able to automatically suspend unused plugins which saves a lot of CPU.

This ensures that if a plugin is not used, it is automatically switched off to save memory and allow the processor to run lighter. A stand-out feature that makes FL Studio especially powerful is the “Smart Disable” feature. Overall, FL studio is a fantastic option for a seamless, optimal CPU consumption DAW. FL Studio comes with a huge number of built-in plugins and effects which makes the need for 3rd party plugins unnecessary.FL Studio itself automatically optimizes 3rd party plugins used for better performance. My personal favorite DAW that I have been using for years now. Overall, I would personally recommend this DAW for any startup user and any user that is working on smaller projects.

Crashing and stuttering became more often and loading times slowed down significantly. However, testing Reaper in bigger projects with a huge ton of plugins, you start to see its flaws. Muting the original track frees up a huge amount of CPU memory
#CUBASE VS.PRO TOOLS PRO#
The thing Pro-Tools has over Cubase or Logic (IMHO) is that Pro-Tools has an installed base of about 95% of all pro recording studios - when you save out a Pro-Tools session onto an external drive or a CD (or whatever) - you can trot down to your local studio, plug it into their Pro-tools TDM system and it will come up exactly as it does on your Mac or PC. There is an in-between solution in the form of the Digi 002 - runs Pro-Tools LE, which is very powerful recording software indeed.

Most professional studios have a protools rig. It has 9 processers though to run all the plugins with no CPU being used. A card for that system runs like 8 grand to start. If you get a TDM system you will pay out the butt. If you get a an LE system you can get an Mbox to run it but you only get to track 2 channels at a time.

The only real difference is that ProTools has to have a digidesign hardware to run.
